And it continues build thread. Dead.. sent to the scrapyard

Depends on what you are doing for the tune and what heads you are running, converter, etc, but I would say somewhere in between there with the stock heads. Give me a week as I am about to select a cam for my friends 6.0 that we are adding long tubes and a tune to and I want to make sure I don't select one that will create a piston/valve issue with the stock 6.0 heads. It will likely require a valve spring swap though.

I agree if your only shooting for mid 4's then a cam and tune should get you there. And then youll probably want to do valve springs as well as stock springs start to give out around 5500rpm

Well that's 1k more than my tbi valves give out

Well I have to research what lift they are good for reliably and how much coil bind clearance they have. It may be more important than just how high you can rev it, it may self destruct if you don't change them depending on what cam you go with.

I have heard the Vette yellow springs are good for 550 lift. I myself don't like word of mouth a d swapped them out to match the cam I have. Another thing you can do is upgrade the rocker arm ratio, factory truck heads have 1.6:1

Small update. Green truck will live on for a few more years. Picked up some used tires from KellyJohn. Gonna grove em and call it a day. Tires do not have any rot at all, just are worn down. Got two of the 5 mounted this weekend. What a pain. 32bolts per wheel bring the suck. No quick way to do it. Gonna need some more fender trimming and possibly a zero rate. These tire that are worn, are still way bigger than I had before. 42x15x16.5

And it continues build thread. Antiwrap done, almost ready to wheel!

Well today I spent most of the day being speed hole mike :). Started fixing the last minute throw this on just to have it before a run.

Removed the ghetto fab bump bracket and installed new brackets. But first let me tell you dykem and a scribe is the only way to fab. I've never made such precise brackets before. It's so much easier to see the scribe line the a sharpie etc.

So from autocad to paper, then from paper to steel.

Also 42's are on and I got her out for the first time this year. Fired right up, after I put another battery on. No big surprise the optima was dead.

For sure! Greg turned me onto the stuff too and I love it. Way more precise and when You are grinding the metal you don't have to worry about the sharpie marks burning away. :waytogo:
