and so it has begun I need ideas!

Wow Eric it's looking great:DWill it be ready for bb10???

thats my plan:D

. I am actually hoping to finish it up sometime this week as far as the cage goes, quite a few gussets to built and some really screwy notching of some tube to do for some tube gussets. Its all DOM and I don't want to waste any so any I have left that is a foot or shorter is gonna get turned into tube gussets

Is your truck lower than mine? I thought mine was low but, I though I read that yours was sitting on only a three inch lift. Do you have a shot of the two of them next to each other? I guess I am way off base here. I really, really like what you have done. That is exactly what I would have done, if I had any skills like you anyways.

Due to other things I haven't really been able to do much. Rob your truck is way higher than mine, just an eyeball and I would say 5" or so. You want I should make your truck lower? :D

Anyway heres the pics

I kind of wish I would have coped all the top braces into each other. They are all very close to each other and will look different when I put the gusset I plan for them on. The gusset will serve two purposes it will make everything just a bit stronger and serve as a major mounting point for the top I am planning.

Technically this is a build thread and should show up in the driveway soon. Looks good Eric, well I think so but what does your daughter think of Horton now?

Didn't get much done tonight but some one door bar in, the other is bent and I started modifying the fenders to fit in tighter.

Also decided the TJ rear seat I had is too big, going to look for a suzuki samurai seat. It will fit perfect.

Door bar all welded in, just waiting for a brace or two

Looking good bud, keep up the good work!! Need to hurry up, I want a ride in that beast!!

looks good.... :waytogo:

Hey when you get that Sami seat in there, I might need some measurements from ya. Im wanting a rear seat in my rig, just worried about Head to cage clearance...

looking great Eric...I like the door tubes, are they a tight squeeze getting around them and the steering wheel?

they actually are a bit of a tight squeeze in and out Dave but once in they are very comfy I spend alot of time sitting in the seat and deciding where to put them. I wanted to be able to rest my arm on them and they work very well for that.

I have gotten in and out a couple times now and with a couple grab handles it actually won't be a big deal

Its easier on the passenger side :D

The jeep seat is too big, really? You do know that your little girl is going to grow, right? Looks great.

LT.

Yep Rob its too big, a sami seat will be fine until she is quite a bit older I think. Besides that the sami seat will be way shorter.

I have found in my wheeling its pretty easy to get a narrowed front end and cab through something, as soon as you clear the cab though you seem to get hung up on whatever is behind the cab, thats the reason I never ran bed sides and the reason the tubing is going to dive in very soon after my main hoop. The jeep seat is just too wide to accomplish what I want to do

I really, really, like it! I was just thinking that you little one isn't going to be little much longer. She is growing like a weed and that looking at her parents I think she is going to get tall quickly. Man, I wish I had your abilities to build rigs!

Well you have to make it comfy while your in there. Just watching a dude get out of a dragster is not easy feat, but its while your in the seat that counts. Looks cool Eric.
