My mother wants a different car, so I'm starting the search. I want to put her behind the wheel of a 98 or newer Buick Riviera. Need to find one with 50,000 miles or less on it. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif Any ideas ??? /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

Something wrecked like that would be interesting. The fuel injected high output six with FI could be mated to a rear drive trans and put in a light wheeler, or hell its puts out as much as a mild 350 , put it in anything. The whole front interior could be adapted to a cruiser (i.e El Camino). But anyways that pic is of a real expensive to fix car. We got bumped in our Impala and were quoted over 600 just to replace bumper cover and foam /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Unless you really have the proper equipment, fixing a late model subframe unibody car can be a bitch!! I can see the frame rail and the rad support on passenger side are bent. The inner apron is a weld in part along with the rad support. Unless you have a frame machine laying around, you are never going to get it right!! And if you bring that to a shop to have done, they will charge your azzzzz and most likely NOT guarantee that it's 100% if they don't do the whole job. UNLESS you have a friend who works in a good shop, like I do, and can "sneak" stuff in and out!!!

Going to look at a green 98 Riviera with 51,000 miles on it monday. Don't know about a green car though. Local Ford dealership has it, list price is $10,500.00 , but mom kinda knows the owner of the dealership so that might help. Gotta check it out, and mom has to like it befor we talk any $$$. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif Green Riviera

Also print out the cars you look at online. Our Impala was tagged 3 grand more than it was online. They were not going to give me a good price until I showed them the online listing, damn salesman /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

One thing to watch out for with the 3.8's is the upper intake. These are VERY prone to failure. The EGR passage burns through and then the coolant passages rot out. The last i knew, GM's fix for it was to replace it with the SAME intake. So it could fail agian!! usually just out of warranty, it would fail agian. It is such a problem that the Aftermarket world redesigned it so it would last!!!!

Is that for the Supercharged 3800, or regular 3.8 ??? We're looking at SUPERCHARGED cars.

Yeah we've had to replace several of those on 3.8s at the shop I work at...

Those are for NON supercharged engines. You should be ok on the intake then. Have you found the battery in the car???? yet????

[/ QUOTE ] Haven't even found the car yet, LOL. I really like the 98's and 99's Buick Riviera's, but we're not limiting to just them. Also going to look at some Pontiac Grand Prix's. I really like the feel of the Supercharged 3800's. You know what they say "Injection is nice, but I'd reather be blown" , LOL. Would really like to stay under $10,000.00 and 50,000 miles or less. Want a nice GM 2 door car.

First supercharged riv i ever got to work on was a tow in, no start. battery??? I don't see no freakin battery!!

Really ??? I would never guessed it'd be there. What do you think of those Supercharged Riviera's ?? I like them ALOT !!!!!
