I sheered a centering pin on the front axel one night..
loosened up the u-bolts, used a 2 come-a-longs to locate axel back in place..re-tourqued the u-bolts wheeled it that next day and drove it for a week.![]()

big dan said:Im a little embarrased by this but I sheered a center pin one time and didnt know what had happened. when I would drive down the road it would pull to one side and when I would brake my axle would shift causeing some real scarry steering. decided to look at it one day and you could see where the axle had been sliding back and forth on the spring. loosened the u-bolts that were already pretty loose, and jacked up the frame and the spring pack came apart. now I check my u-bolts once a week to make sure they are still tight.

Same here ! I'm a carpenter by trade and the only thing rebar is good for is burying it in concrete , not good for use on steering a 4x4 . # 10 was pretty bad tooFOR MUD said:I said #2 .
