i know i know , but i want to make sure of something:D

when i install my 1978 14bff in my 1984 blazer, i can put the ubolt pads on top. i am not sure how it was mounted in the k20 it came out of , but i want to make sure before i do it. i have the ubolts coming from "ord " for a 14bff ,
and i have the type of pads that mount on top of the springs, so is all ok

The pad (or plate) needs to be for a 3-3/8" or 3-1/2" axle tube. The 10/12 bolt plates are only good for a 3" tube iirc.

yes i have the 14bff pads. these pads are for going on top of the springs.
i just want to make sure i can mount this 14bff this way.
in the past i have seen where the ubolt pad was down at the bottom of the axle with the nuts for the ubolts. i want my ubolt nuts to be up top.

Yes , as long as you are using a top plate that has the correct bolt spacing as U2SLOW said up above.
The axle tube does not care how the u-bolts are set up - what matters is if you are using the correct type plates for round u-bolts and tube diameter.
