another ebay beauty

It is clear to me this guy hasn't looked over ck5 all that much. Any noob with half a brain can find some very good tech here on how to do a lift right. Missing the main motto of "built not bought" that a very limited few had somebody else install a lift. Heck this is where the 52" front spring swap really was refined (if not originated too).

The point is we are all really big fans of doing things ourselves. If it's done right chances are, it will be used by another (homebrew shackle flips and 52" swaps come to mind). Conversely if you do something that is potentially dangerous it will not be overlooked and the person that did it is going to get some advise on how to make it safe.

Blocks up front no matter how you do it are dangerous. Any Competent chassis builder/shop would know that. Oh and just because you are at Super Chevy shows and might have seen a few show going trailer queens with that setup don't make it right either. You may be a great welder too. Heck you could be certified by NASA to weld the tank of a solid rocket booster but you can still put a truck together in an unsafe manner but with beautiful welds.

But then again what do I know. I only installed a 4" lift kit myself with a shackle flip and ride on 1/2 ton axles. I may not be a "pro" like this goober but at least I know my k5 won't come apart and kill me or others.

I respectfully nominate this POS to the scary steering page....Not just for the obvious engineering greatness but the wonderful attitude of the seller.

First and foremost, all you guys running 33's and np208's with your crappy 1/2 ton axles, with 4 inches of lift that think you are bad? I tell you what, i got a lifted truck just like this one your makinkg fun of on ebay, and any time any of you Idiots with your 4 inch lifts, and your 36 inch hummer tires, 1/2 ton axles, and your "cammed UP" oil smokin 350's want to come play with us, just give us a post and we'll invite you. If a lift just like this one on the black truck, holds up to a 750 hp 472 cu in ALL ROLLER BBC on 150Hp of spray, with a sm465 dumpin over 800 ft pounds of tq @ 5300rpm into a set of 5.38's on a corp 14 bolt, and it dont break, i think it will work, Come on, give me a reply, ill tear anyone of you guys up, just give me the chance.

The reason you make fun, is none of you even know how to turn a mig welder on, and you NON hands on girls, would rather buy a set of crappy riding springs from superlift, and bolt them on, or have your local "off road shop" install them for you. leaving your pinion angles wrong, and getting no articulation from those solid rocks.

I'll be at the Badlands Sat. Nov. 12th at 9:00 riding with 4given 4x4. You're more than welcome to tag along. Oh, I'll be the one with 1/2 axles and Duke of Hazzard wheels!

Ok, in my attempt to not start swearing...

#1. I run 40's on 4" of lift and 1-tons, as do quite a few people on this site. Got something against 1/2 tons? They offer quite a bit more clearance and if you can make 'em last it's well worth it. Just because you don't know how to use finesse when you're driving doesn't mean other people don't.

#2. 5.38's for 14 bolts aren't available yet. Listed but not selling. You're lying.

#3. If you made the same frame mods, I flat out wouldn't wheel with you. Call it personal preference or common sense, I don't care which.

#4. I'm not the greatest welder, but I sure can lay a bead, I just choose not to turn my truck into a rolling deathmobile.

#5. You never mentioned what your front axle was...probably a "1-ton" D44 huh?

#6. First off, I run a shackle flip in the rear, which uses stock springs, so my spring rate in back is no different than yours. In front I run lift springs because I don't wanna die all that soon. You call us non-hands on for doing springs instead of booty fab?

#7. Look back over your post and realize that you dumped a fortune into your motor yet you're insulting the flexibility of lifted springs...if you're soooooo awesome at modification, plot out a 4 link and actually show us all up.

I'm impressed that you actually used big words such as "pinion" and "articulation". I do however think you have a lot left to learn about safely modifying a vehicle.

Here's your shot big nuts, tear me a new one. :wink1:

i just sat through 2 hours of class and didnt pay any attention because i am outraged by this. i dont consider myself and expert, thats why i come here for help, and my rig only has 3 inches of lift and 33's but it is safe and all i can afford at the moment, trust me when i can afford it i will have 4 inches, thats right ive hung out on here long enough to know that you can fit 40's with only 4 inches, but some of the guys on here deserve some respect as they do know what they are doing and just because they dont lower their spring hangers down to where they become dangerous obstacles doesnt mean they cant build a cheap functional lift. before tearing into anybody this guy needs to tear into some tech articles and past discussion because obviously he doesnt know about some of the cool stuff these guys do. i cant vouch for my rig much but i would love to see how well this guys truck would do against some of the awesome rigs on this site, especially after his suspension gets ripped off by a rock.

Say something about the po po so we can sick bubba on you, that would be more fun. This kind of rampant stupidity defies logic. I will give you some credit though, most people like you have horrible grammar, at least yours is legible. [sarcasm]Here's my former and current wimpy trucks just to help validate your claims about us being mall crawlers[/sarcasm]

Why does the rear brake line go around the shock? I would rather back into something and dent a shock, than flatten a brake line. His truck is proof that smart people are dangerouse... Either have no common sense or he just thinks he's so smart and knows what he's doing he spends alot of time and effort and builds a POS. AND... its up to $2,800!!!

Also he speaks of frame stacking... Wouldnt do that either. And lowering the steering box doesnt change the fact its stock push pull trying to turn those big heavy tires.
But Im nobody with just 4" lift that knows what axles/gears I have, can weld, have rebuilt engines, rear ends, restored cars, built hot rods, and knows whats safe and whats just stupid. My LITTLE 383 does fine. Dont quite understand why the NOS 700 HP motor...but if you want I'll race ya in my Mustang. :woot:

I think this is cute 'cause he pretty much described my truck...... :haha: Well, except for the half-ton part.

Anyone want to bet that's actually the guy from ebay?

Oh, and guy, I run synthetic oil........and it doesn't burn a drop. :wink1:

Wanna come try some rock climbing? See how long that lift lasts and how often you can use your nitrous... :eek1: :haha:

This is great...made my day! :D

come on now, maybe since they know he's got the baddest ALL ROLLER bb Chevy, he's testing out the prototypes to make sure they can stand up to big truck nuts?

Ohhh yeah, he's got the inside scoop on new GM stuff as well. I mean, come on, he's got an EXACT power number at an actual RPM number, there! John Moss prolly put it on the dyno himself.... I mean, we all know that he couldn't just be posting a dream number off desktop dyno and actually has an I6.......

I'm still confused as to what the nitrous would be used for...? Anyone fill me in as to what need for nitrous one would have in a trail rig, or for in a 4x4 mall crawler for that matter other than to just "impress" one's friends? I bet it is one of those fake nitrous containers with a Bazooka sub installed.

essentially. if he took no more than 30 seconds to look around (it amazing im not exagerating the amount of time either) he would see that 95% of us build our own things, wheel our things and will crawl our rigs right by his bb full roller nitrous huge chevy thats missing a rear axle :D :doah:
