I have the pump mounted and wired but before I plumb it I have a few more questions. How it is now when the key is turned on the pump starts running, which now makes me wonder should I put the pump on its own switch so I have the ability to turn the truck on to listen to the radio or whatever without dumping my entire tank into the carb or is there a pressure switch that I can install? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Id just leave it alone. Cant you turn the key back a notch to listen to the radio?

this is why I don't understand electric pumps on carbed vehicles, too much to deal with and too much to go wrong.

you will need a regulator to bring the psi down to ~6. Depending on what carb you are running, will dictate the psi. The regulator is needed no mater what. Switching the pump on and off is a good idea, simply for theft deterrent if anything, but having to remember would cause ME a headache. I'm not sure how the return works for a regulator, but I think you'll need one. Dunno since I never actually dealt with this setup, only on my FAST system. I like mechanical pumps myself.

first off yes there is key acc in the backwards position of key off / pull out position. you should be using this for radio .

and unless you have a crazy big fuel pump the off the shelf cheepys dont need a regulator 98% of the time.

a hidden switch thats easy for you would be sweet as anti theft.

The pump is a carter it is a 6psi pump and they claim you don't need a regulator. As far as the acc position I do not use the key to start my entire ignition set up is hidden in the ash tray (now that I've announced that I should probably move it) anyways I have 3 switches one momentary for the starter and the other two constants one is the radio/wipers etc and the other is coil so I ended up just wiring it to the coil switch
