Another idea for interior of Blazer

I had the same idea and figured the aluminum choice is ok if covered with paint or coating to reduce the chance of getting burned by sun heated aluminum. I plan on taking off the top so heat becomes an issue.

I was just thinking about that idea...some kind of covering...what about marine grade carpeting? I just looked on www.overton.com and they have a decent selection of carpet for boats that would work pretty good for that, just have to glue it to the aluminum. Would stand up to the sun and not mildew or get nasty after getting wet. Just thought I would add my $.02.

Ive Done it, I used Sheet metal and cut out the pattern from my old side pieces, then cut out the sheet metal with an air nibbler. I cut the sheet right behind the rear seat and put a hinge there, then had them powder coated black. I used stereo insulation on the front half and now the back half of my fenders can store antifreeze or oil, or even a 24 of Bud Light.

I did that when i took the top off. I used it to store my towstrap and other little things.

Good idea.

I am going with a spray on liner as a base but I will use carpet or neoprene as well. Marine is the way to go.

I used marine plywood and auto vinyl with some foam in between for my custom side panels. Use stuff that can hold up to the abuse ;)

I came up with this last night and just whipped it up in paintbrush. My thought was if you had any thing on floor you want to be able to get whats inside without unloading floor. I know it needs tweaked but here it is.

It would be wide enough to hold an anti freeze bottle at min.
