Another Weekend....another Dead Tranny!

urrrrrrr another dead tranny, killed another t-350 case, cracked the case all the way around and locked up the guts, so now the rear tires wont even turn unless I pull the rear shaft , this will be the fourth tranny since Febuary!

I dont even know what to say this time, I'm speechless

I think I will be going back to a t-400 tanny now, or a manual , this happended at a decent time though since I have a fuel injected 350 waiting to go in..but damn! Thats alot af breakage in a short time..some from stupidity, some from bad luck..

I broke my TH350, swapped in the 465, and have never looked back. I'm loving it, nothing to ever worry about again! Such a load off my mind, I'll never trust an automatic.

Go with a manual!!! SM465 = granny low of 6.5:1 (in that range anyways).

Or a NV4500 with OD.....

Are you running the stabilizer bars that bolt to the Trans flywheel cover and to the motor mounts? I am not sure if the T-350's come with these, but the T-400's & 4L80E's do. If you are not, this could be a reason for cracking the transmission cases.

no. I am not running these, mostly because through all of my adventures I have not come across one...


the fact that my truck was flying, then had a nasty landing..cracking the frame..as well as the tranny should be expected...
