A lot of you saw the thread I started last week about my buddy's truck getting stolen. Seems like our trucks are fairly easy to hotwire.

What are you guys using as an anti-theft device. Post links, pics, parts #s, .45 autos, pitbulls, etc of what you use to keep your rig yours. What is easy to install and effective????
Thanks

Always been a worry of mine.
But mine is my toy and I don't drive it all that often. Barely fits in the garage, so I don't have to worry about it being outside.
When I do drive it, I only drive it where I can keep an eye on it.
It would be very easy to steal.
I need to wire up a kill switch.
Right now, I use one of those steering wheel "CLUB" til I can figure something else out. If anything, the $20 I spent on it will, hopefully, make someone just keep walking...
Til I can figure something else out, anyways.

I use chain around the steering wheel to the brake pedal and a pretty large master lock. I used to do this with a VW I had in Modesto CA and it never got swipped. I figure it must work.

2 hidden fuel pump kill switches, both have to be on, and a column guard.

Switches get hit when my butt leaves the seat, the column guard goes on if Im going to be out for more than 5mins.

i always use the club.turn the wheel all the way one direction then lock it.even if they hotwire it,they can only do circles unless they have a good hacksaw and enough time to cut through.ive seen where its easier to just cut the sterring wheel and then slip whatever is lockingthe wheel out of place then they can drive away.but at lest there i something visual that they see and maybe wont try it.

A claymore in the seat cushion, a PIN keypad, and a 10-second delay for PIN input after starting. It helps the cleanup to have pre-installed a moonroof and leave it open or have a full-vert Blazer. :D

Just kidding.

My truck supplies power to the fuel solenoid (diesel) through the normal key switch in the column, but the starter turns via a button on the dash. If it's cold, the glowplugs are manually controlled and require flipping a separate momentary toggle. If you didn't know both diesels and what you're doing it would confound the average thief (it certainly confounded the guy who mandrel-bent my turbo crossover pipe this weekend).

It still wouldn't take much to get it on a flatbed or towrope, however.

bottom line is if they want it they will get it.

But if you can slow them down for 30 sec. they usually will say fook it, and move on.

I replace my coil wire (Vette) with a dummy wire, and have a manual fuel shutoff.

i just dont leave a battery in it when its sitting. also theres a floor shifter but the column is still active with the nuetral start thing. so put the column in gear but the trans in park and it cant start.

I just stick another beater in front of it so they have to steal 2 vehicles to get to it...

Locked in the shop. Or I am with it. I am not listing what is on the truck. Some one on here might try to grab it at Blazer Bash.:D

If they want it they will get it.

Club, no battery (went to get the current one replaced), trans pan (auto) removed for maintenance. One fully restored 1965 mustang stolen in broad daylight from an apartment complex parking lot. Given what was removed from the car, it was towed away and nobody saw a thing. My first car, and last project my now deceased father and I worked on together. :(

Mine isn't that appeling for someone to want to steal but will probably run a hidden switch for the fuel pump when I do the TBI swap just so I know no one will snag it.

How can you pull this off..

I use one of theese on the starter

I also have the car alarm, the club on the steering wheel, tricked door handles (need to hit it in a certain place in order to get it to unlock) i havent taken the time to get the theft deterrent of the spark box (grounding a wire i think) and im planning a fuel cut off in the line somewhere, not sure if its a good thing.

I leave the keys in the ignition and the doors unlocked, generally with the windows open. Am I doing it wrong???

Leave your transfer case in neutral I have triple sticks with no labeling, it might take them a while to figure it out.

Plus I usually disconnect my battery when it is left somewhere not in my yard for any time at all

I don't daily drive mine either

X2! Plus I leave mine inside! Mostly worried about my tires coming up missing. My truck is way too one off for anybody to risk stealing for a profit. A joyride however is a differant story. Lucky for me it is always broken so I don't have to worry about it.

My anti theft device.........................An unfinished project. :D :haha:Any thief eyeballing my rig has forgot about it looooong ago, got too damn tired of seeing it unfinished. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
