what is this wet stuff falling from the sky and where the hell did it come from /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

I'm not sure what it is, but it's got me scared! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

My poor dog has lived here all his life and he really is afraid of the rain. He watches it with ears laid back, if it falls on him he acts liike he was hit by a rock, and sometimes he even growls or barks... /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I woulnd't have had any problems with this but I didn't bring the lower far enough along the upper (where they meet).

Holy crap batman, is that blue sky I see outside /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif Some sneeky SOB stole my rain clouds /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Blue sky's in Seattle, rain in AZ and NV, /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

Yep, the weather is definitely screwed up right now.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled thread...

Two comments on that pic.

1) I would make it as level as possible from axle center line to end of bar pivot. Tire diameter plays in too, but you can only do so much before the compromises overwhelm the benefits. I expect that one will cause some significant jacking effects, particularly on steep climbs. The end of the bar on mine is just at or slightly below the frame rail and I have about 4" of lift in the rear. IOW, it is much flatter than that and I can still jack it pretty hard on the street in double low. But on climbs it seems perfectly neutral so far.

2) I would offset it above the axle tubes. Out here, hanging down like that will expose the bar and ends to damage as well as potentially hanging up. The lowest point on mine is just above the bottom of the axle tube.

I was wondering... would welding the axle tubes weaken them and cause fractures or even breakage?

Generally no, but, like any metal if you get the tubes too hot they will crystalize and crack and break.

thefarside, that 4-link looks nice. Is that a kit or is that a custom setup? If you built that where did you get all of the parts, tube links and brackets etc? Do you have any more pictures?
