Trying to get my electric fans set and having some issues. For some reason the #2 fan won’t come on. Everything in the circuit should be good bc we can turn it on with the program, but it won’t come on when the motor gets to temp.

Below is what he sent me. I know the temps are too low, we’re gonna bump that up, but can anyone explain some of the other parameters. No tuning experience whatsoever here.

Thermostat is a 187 so I’m thinking of just trying to have both fans come on at around 200 degrees.

Most people use the AC on as the second fan. You need to map this correctly, and wire it correctly depending on your ECM.

I had basic view enabled last night. I remembered that turning on advanced view gives me more parameters. Here's how mine are set up.

This an LS power?

Yes

Harness was done by current performance. I’m waiting in a reply from them to help identify some wires in the harness. I’m thinking the green wire is my AC control and the two small blue is just fan control from the ECM. Thick light blue and dark blue wires are going to fans.

Also, to your question last night.

Ignition off setting definition= [ECM] 8060 - Ignition Off Fan Enable Temp: If engine coolant temperature is above this value when ignition is switched off, fans will run for Run Time.

Yes

That is most likely a relay based on the wiring. Red thick wires are power, the pink wires are 12V for the coil, ECM send a switched ground through the green and the blue wires. When the ecm grounds the otherside of the coil it pulls in the contact making connection between the thicker red wires, and the lighter blue wires. So yah if the ECM isn't programmed to use the AC for the second fan it will never turn on.

Just a heads up. The 284 number is the max in the range, so I’m pretty sure it was being used as an “off” setting. I haven’t tried to change it yet. Also might want to consider a manual shut off for mud/river crossings.

I thought under the vcm scanner there was an area to manually turn on the fans, for testing. Same spot as manually cycling the ac clutch.

Not yet. He can’t come by until sometime next week. We’re hoping changing the AC pressures and turning #2 off analog cycling will do the trick.

@jekquistk5 is the “analog cycling” setting where we would turn off the auto-recirc?

I believe so. It depends on you pcm and os levels. Early trucks used pressure switches for ac recirc, later models used pressure sensors and the pcm control. What pcm do you have?

I think you are on the right track.
