i had purchased a kit to do the whole k5 ,most of it has been together for quite some time, i went to mount fenders today and the body lines are showing the front of the fenders are too high, i cranked on the core support bushing bolts to pull the support down but still too high,
any one else have this issue?

are the front cab bushings new? that'd be my first guess, sagging there...

and how was the bottom of the rad support, they often get swollen and puffy there with rust at the mount section...

all new, body was completly off the frame, rad support was mint

how off is the support? 1/2" high or 1/8 high?

sure you got the bushing #'s in the correct places ?

and some trucks / blazers / burbs got washers / shims under body and ontop of mount to level things out.

might need to shim/level out.

looks to be between 1/8-1/4 i have a nice gap at top of the door but huge gap at bottom of door to fender and its both sides
i have factory cup-bushing-frame-bushing-washer as per the instructions, i thought i read a post once that stated the instructions were wrong but i cant find it

When I bought mine I also added a small body lift. I machined Aluminum round "pucks" 1-1/8 tall, all the same height. When I went to install the bushings I ended up having to machine down the center pucks by a fair amount. My frame is straight too. No way I was getting them in there without machining my spacers down, and all the ES body bushings if I remember are the same height.

i removed the factory steel cup that supposed to go between the bottom of the rad support and sit on top of bushing, the fender to door gap is pretty acceptable, i dont forsee any problem leaving it this way , any thoughts on this

:doah: dont tell me you realy think that .

told you some bodys get shimmed . you might need to get and ad some under the first mount at firewall.

you think there would be a problem?
thought about shimming the the firewall mounts but thought that would screw up the gap between quarter paner and door

Don't remove the steel cup parts! Leave them in there. They came from the factory like that for a reason.

Do what sweetk30 said about shimming. Use washers, etc. Don't take shortcuts like removing parts like the steel cup.
