Anybody done a u bolt conversion on gm d60

And I think that's what cause this. I noticed my shock is also ballooned out from bottoming out and dust cover is knocked out of it

Unrelated, but any issues w/ using the block/spacer under the x-over arm? Would think that would put lots of stress on those bolts, but i guess the hydro assist helps limit it.

None at all. I have hydro assist. Needed the block because the drag link would hit the spring when it drooped

I'm getting my butt kicked!!!. Soaked in pb blaster. Heated it multiple times. 1/2" breaker bar on ez out...still won't budge. I can't even peel the threads out of each other...... Its drilled all the way though bolt.

Since you have a hole drilled in the bolt you can shrink it by spraying some “Air Duster” in the hole - the stuff you clean computer keyboards with. It comes out at somewhere around -60F.

I'm starting to think that it's pinched in there, because the bolt I did get out would get loose and tight the entire way out and was consistent. So I'm thinking the hole collaspe around the bolt pinching it.

I may try it but all this makes me wanna just use a ubolt so I never have to deal with it again...

I would have quit this extraction bs long ago lol
U bolt would be ordered and already delivered

That's basically where I'm at. I figured if I couldn't get it out by today, tomorrow I'm getting plate made and u bolt ordered.
...I don't give up easily....but today I wish I did...may just send it out with a bang and throw the cheater bar on the easy out and end it with a bang lol

I've had luck with increasing size reverse twist drill bits... start drilling bigger and bigger holes and sometimes the bit will bite and spin the bolt out.

I've drilled right up to the threads and usually being off center just a little bit
will start cutting the side of the bolt to where you can take a punch and chisel to collapse the remaining pieces of the bolt.

It's slow and tedious work, but if you get it out, you can clean up the threads with a tap...
