I'm looking for a pic of an np203 WITH A REAR SLIP YOKE. I know they existed as I've worked on one, my bet is '79 and GM only. I'd like to show a non believer they existed.

Google was fruitless. Who can name this tune??

Are you sure your not thinking of an NP205 with slipyoke?

(Asked half in jest, half serious :D )

:flipoff3: j/k Yes a 203 :screwy: :D That's why I'm trying to find a pic, a fella doesn't believe they existed. I really think it was probably a 1 yr thing.

I have never seen an NP203 with a slip yoke, 1979 was the last year for 203's and 1980 was the first year for the first slip yoke NP205.

Right, I'm aware of 79 being the end of production and the 205 being the onl;y case in 80. I always thought the rear slip yoke (for 205's) started in either 78 or 79, most likely 79.

@Capt Ron at first I thought that was a 3 spd on the column trans but the shifter is crazy and the boot looks like an A833. What is it?

Back in high school I used to work for a guy that had a neat late 70's K10 with a 350, 3 spd on the column. At the time I didn't know what I do now so I never got under it and looked it over, I wish I had now. Shoot, I wish I had the whole truck now.

Yeah @83ChevyK5Blazer is local to me and had an A833 / 208 in his old Blazer for a while. The trans didn't like wheeling so when he swapped to a Suburban he sold the A833 and went with a 700.

This one has a cast iron case and the t-case is a 208. the shifter is bent up from when they {not me} removed it.

I had a late model nv3500..... I didn't trust it for the weight of the suburban, that and it didn't appreciate being filled with water that one time.

I've seen many 203s but never with a slip yoke. Even divorced 203s lol......Local yard had the 833/208 combo, couple at one point, but not too many squares in yards anymore....
