Anybody make beefy 10 bolt covers?

Yep. Not a fan of the pretty aluminum covers because of this. Like I said earlier...remember that magazine article in 4-Wheel & Off-Road in 2003 or so where they took all the popular covers of the time and mistreated the hell out of them? ALL the aluminum covers failed badly.

The aluminum covers have their place. I plan to use those T/A covers when I get some spare coin. I'm not going to run my sand drag blazer against rocks.
However, if I were to build a rock crawler blazer, I go with one of these.
It has the strength of the fabricated steel covers and load bolts for the bearing caps.

Not much sand around here. Not exactly rock crawling either. I just want something that I can drag across a rock, stump, limestone encrusted clay earth mound, whatever around here without worrying it'd be up to it. Never know what's on the trail or even in that seemingly harmless stretch of ground you're about to traverse.

There is an old thread about DIY "flat back" diff covers, but all of the pictures are gone. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=206406 I'm still wondering how that works. I think getting a ring like that and adding steel to the stock cover could be a good option, though.

What's a flat back diff cover?

Fab work is out of the question for me. Can't weld and would have to pay someone to do it.
