Per Wade's advice, he recommended not to have pre-BB trail ride discussions in the Blazer Bash section. So how about here? @Bent77 if this is in the wrong spot can you move it to the right one, please?

Anyway getting into the discussion. Being my first time to BB I'm inclined to come early to do more trails and explore more. At this point, I've got the entire week off. I have yet to decide to get out of town Tuesday or Wednesday.

But here's the question anybody planning on getting there early? What day? Any plans on specific trails? Meeting up with others?

What say you brothers?

I was originally thinking about arriving Wednesday but could possibly do Tuesday. My to do list is still kinda long but I think it is doable. I have no clue on what trails.

I'm scheduled to show up the day before, usually come in around mid afternoon.

I still don't know when I come I don't have a confirmation on who is coming with me which affects the decision

If I can get the S-10 working, we'll be there the Saturday before Blazer Bash and will leave the Monday after. If I end up taking the Silverado, we'll probably go through Colorado (Ouray) on our way and only be in Moab for the bash.

Hopefully they have the trails cleared in the San Juan mountains by then.

Now that I know what's wrong with the S-10 and that I'll be able to get it fixed fairly easy, we will for sure be there early (Saturday the 31st through Monday the 9th). We'll be in the same spot as last year at Moab Rim.

Now that I've registered for BB officially I'm working on the details to get there. @Capt Ron is coming too. He had the idea to take the rimrocker trail from Montrose to Moab. 160 miles of dirt. Nothing extreme other than the remoteness. Should be a cool way to get to Moab.

Anybody wants to tag along is welcome. Just have to be self sufficient for a night out in the middle of nowhere. Should be able to cover the mileage with one tank of fuel, but there is a spot to top off in the town of Nucla if you can't carry extra fuel. I'm bringing 1 Jerry can for fuel as a just in case backup. We'll be getting into Montrose Wednesday the 4th mid day. Camp on the trail that night and roll into Moab the next afternoon.

Gonna be there Wednesday afternoon if things go as planned

While researching Rimrocker I've come across a couple of trail reports that preferred taking La Sal Pass over the section of the Rimrocker trail that runs south around the mountain. Looking at pics from last year it looked like @r3dd0g and @ktmoutfront went over it. From most I've come up researching that trail it's fairly tame, not unlike many of the mountain passes I've covered here in Colorado. Looks like you guys hit Geyser pass on the way back too.

We can pick up on either trail from the Rimrocker trail on the east side. For those who have done it is one more fun/scenic than the other? The west end of either trail looks to connect back to Rimrocker plus another dozen ways to get back to Moab. It looked like either could be fun way to go.

Both trails were tame (as long as you didn't drive off the road...). Both were also very scenic. I don't think you could go wrong regardless of which way you went.

I think if you try to not drive off the road for a few years, then maybe people will forget that time when you did (but probably not).
