Anybody seen this before? Sector shaft related

So im installing the AGR kit on my fathers truck this weekend and pull his old box off and the first thing I notice is that the splines are twisted on the sector shaft. This is a '72 K5 on 40" Iroks with ORD high steer and a 60 up front. He did break a sector shaft the time before last trip out which can be seen in the May Off-Road Magazine. But, this sector shaft was straight when I put in back in November, and he made one trip on it and the shaft was already twisted.

Sounds like he has other steering problems. either that or he just needs hydro assist to relieve some of the pressure off the box.
Looks crazy though
