i have to rebuild the brakes on my dodge 60 and wondered if this would work, any input??
brake kit

first guess is no.
the brackets look like they will not clear the caliper without some grinding
also the offset looks way off, the caliper mounts deep behind the spindle IIRC
looks to be a scam, way overpriced, I paid $40 a side for my one off laser cut brackets
in volume they would be very cheap

someone else had a link a while back on doing this. I'd search thatk30guy's post I know he was in on it.

I believe (could be wrong) that those are for people who want to use a 15 inch wheel on a Dana 60 without having to grind the caliper and I believe a while back there was someone on CK5 who used them (not sure of the results).

It uses the stock caliper from your K5/K10/K20 instead of the monster D60 one that is why the offset is different than a stock D60 caliper bracket. My guess though that you would not be gaining much other than wheel clearance as you aren't taking advantage of the size of the D60 rotor/caliper combination. Although you are getting the D60 strength.

I was assuming a stock rotor
IIRC there is a fair bit of distance between the rotor and the caliper mount
the ones I have seen had an offset built into them
never looked at doing it so perhaps there is another rotor that doesnt have as deep a hat
the seller doesnt give ANY info, feels bad to me

Yep, I had a thread asking for some members to fab some of these brackets. I think TONYP was one who was looking into making some but never heard back from him.

I think I'm gonna watch the eBay auction and see what happens. If those brackets don't sell for that asking price, I'm gonna e-mail the seller and see if he would sell them less if I could get a group-buy here on this site. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

just go to a laser cutter and have him cut them for you
in any kind of volume they will be less then $10 each

True, true. I'm not real hesitant to spend $138 for a pair of brackets like those. I'd rather see our CK5 machinist members make them knowing I would be getting something that will work and fit the first time. I trust TONYP's products. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

[/ QUOTE ] yeah but if you could sell them for $100+ and make that much profit why not?

TSM gets closer to $300 a set
and they do big volume so costs would be single digit per bracket
retail is for suckers

more than likely thos brackets are intended for use with a 1/2 ton rotor for a 5 lug conversion, they need to be offset to work with GM 3/4 ton 8 lug rotors, also the spacing on where the caliper bolts on may be wrong...those look exactly like the ones i have on my rig,i had to weld and re-drill the caliper holes and offset them by 3/8 to get them to work with 3/4 ton 8 lug rotors...pics in the dana 60 folder in my webshots

I don't think those would work. I have JB's brackets on mine, and the caliper mounting areas are offset more than an inch inboard. I'm using 3/4 ton calipers and rotors BTW. I've seen brackets like those being used before, but they've been on 5 lug axles with chevy calipers and Jeep CJ rotors.

mabey its worded funny and theyre actually for the back axel? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
