Im looking to replace the front fenders on my 73. I see LMC has them for the astounding price of $70 each. Anyone use these? Are they decent? Do they come with the inner panel, or just the outer skin? TIA.

Hope the garage is the right board.... :D

LMC sheet metal is garbage.....chevyduty is a much better place to get sheet metal from.

Okay thanks guys, I'll look into those companies. Ya, the $70 price tag made me wonder about the quality.

I use LMC fenders. They are thinner, but a rock will take out any brand fender. Fit was not to bad either.

Check into the shipping charges. Look locally. Inner fenders were cheap at LMC and Chevyduty, but shipping was crazy $$$ compared to the cost of the metal. Just my $.02

I had ratchet straps all over to get mine in place just to get the bolts in !! and I have no dreams of making the body lines line up rite
but I new I was just going to cut them up anyway , so why spend loads on somthing your just going to sawzall

Im hoping not to cut the fenders on this particular truck, so yeah Id like the lines to match up pretty well.

Thanks again for all the input guys. :)

Don't get the cheap ones. Most don't line up real well. That said I couldn't get a set of cheap ones to line up real well but a buddy who is a body guy got em right in about an hour

I have used LMC and I was fortunate that they worked pretty well. Don't get me wrong, you may have use more fender washers (or less) and the finished product may not have the same close clearances as stock. But you would have to look really close to see it. Maybe I was just lucky but mine look pretty good.

I use Certa-Fit in Pennsauken, NJ.. they are local to me... really cheap and everything I have ever bought or anyone I know bought always fit right... yes it is thinner metal but hell...

$45 fender
$75 hood
$45 tailgate
$53 door

that is for prices of the complete unit.. not a skin!!!!!!
here is a pic of one of the doors going on...

Is this the same company? A body shop guy said that their out skins are a crap shoot. If it is, I'll take another look at them for the outer stuff.

Didn't expect this much response, thanks alot everyone. I guess I have some more reasearch to do before I buy the fenders. That's okay, Im still on the tear-down and clean-up phase of the project.
