Out of interest, did you get a shipping quote yet? That's a pretty heavy parcel!

not yet, but cannot be too much, 240 lbs from Summit costs $ 290 and the tire with wheel will not be more than 70/80 lbs. But good you remind me, must push the forwarder.

Good luck with the guy on Ebay. If it doesn't work out maybe you can try one of the online retailers from the U.S. I know Discount Tire Direct ships international.....

Thanx. Could you name me some shops where I can try my luck? I know the size I'm looking for is discontinnued some years ago, therefore I'm afraid most shops will not have them on stock...but if the deal on ebay fails, I will have to try this option anyway. Well also in this case I would be depending on your support since I have no clue where to contact. Summit Racing I know already they do not have them.

Got the quotation for the shipment. FCA Philadelphia Airport cost $ 406,-!! Never ever expected it would cost that much! Now I must think if it's worth for one tire. On the other hand I won't get such a tire new here in Europe. Now I got a smoking brain...

Don't forget to factor in any taxes or duties you'd have to pay when it arrives in Austria.

I know well. However, this price includes all cost unteil Vienna Airport, customs cleared. Import VAT must still be added.

What if you loose the rim? Couldn't one of us just ship it to you via UPS? www.ups.com

well...yes, I actually don't neet the rim. Just didn't wan to cause too much extrawork for you mates. If UPS would be cheaper...fine, any shipment which would be cheaper, even if it takes 2 or 3 month would be okay. I will check UPS if they are cheaper. Parallel, I asked a buddy who is working for a forwarder if he could do it cheaper... Could not imagine that UPS may be cheaper, therefore I did not check this...but will do

I just checked UPS and DHL and UPS was about the same DHL $775.00 not looking good.

okay, I have just calculated with USPS (United States Postal Service) considering the tire is 70 pounds, Economy shipment takes 4-6 weeks (would be okay for me), incl. insurance for $ 150,- it costs $ 84,- Did I do something wrong or is that correct?? If so, that would be the perfect shipment style!! But how to do...from here? The only way is I think that gmc4cw is doing that for me... I don't dare to ask him this...

That sounds about right. USPS is about the only company left that sends things by "slow boat", so it's generally less expensive (as long as you're not in a hurry).

You'd definitely need someone here to help you out with it, though.

I'm definately not in hurry, I have plenty of time. But I worry about the size...weight does not seem to be a problem since the max. weight limit is 70lbs (I cannot believe the tire is over 70lbs). Is there a max. girts limit for international shipments? I can only see a limit for domestic shipments, but not for international??

you are in luck my friend. I work at a dealership so I can dismount the tire for you.

No, I've done the bid. VintageRC is me. I don't know what the rim is worth, but I'm sure someone may hunting after such a rim since they are discontinnued long time ago. Have seen such a rim on some old Patrols, Hilux or Pajeros out here. Perhaps gmc4cw can make it to money if he wants, or maybe you brothers can use it??

Excuse me when I said we I was meaning you. Darn street slang in the hood!

Reason I asked was I thought maybe someone was after the rim. Glade you are in there man good luck. I will have positive thoughts for you bro.
