I'm wanting to do the same thing soon and I got the shifter and I got some for whoevers done this

I just got ahold of a shifter another user built for one of his projects. It looks very much like this write - up. I will be installing it within the next couple of weeks. Other people on this board have built this or similar setups for the 203 xfer case.

Well first, to get the shifter out of the truck I probably have to remove the section of the floor that bolts on (I forget what its called) where the shifter goes into right? The PO put all kinds of stuff around it to seal it down, I'm not sure why, and now theres bedliner over it so its gonna be pretty much impossible to take it off. Do youthink I could jsut get away with taking the boot off and working primarily from underneath or what? To get the shifter out of the other truck (picknpull) I took that section of the floor out and it was pretty easy taking it out

If exhaust is not in the way you should be able to.
