Anyone else NEVER satisfied with their truck?

I had a K5, wanted a shortbed.
Have a shortbed, want a K5.

Lifted it, it looked cool, now it looks tiny and I want more lift.

Ahhh...Anyone else the same way or am I going nuts?

pretty soon you will want a long bed or a crew cab or a suburban.:D:haha:

That's one thing i don't like is massive long trucks. That'd just be a pain.

I just hate how my truck feels small to me. Need more lift asap. and nicer wheels...And i don't know if i like my standard or an auto...ahhh

good it aint just me.

For my truck i now want 35's and a NV4500 and a twin sticked 205, oh and 3/4 tons, and vortec heads. Oh and custom bumpers and a winch.:D

I am glad being broke keeps me from doing all that.

Hey, don't worry, once you get 35's like i have you'll be sayin "man i need some 38s"

it sucks lol

And then when he has the 38's he'll be sayin "man I need some 1-tons..." :haha:

It gets so out of control... I was stock, wanted a 4inch lift and 33s... yeah,

then, you know I really need 35s!... oooh and bumpers, yep that will do it for a while

Then I started really wheelin it and I needed a locker and a 12 bolt rear

You know those wheels blow beads way to easy... new wheels and a rack

Now what I really need is a winch and to take the doors off

Tired of breaking shafts, time to go one ton... might as well narrow it and do crossover steering...oh yeah my winch sucks, better get a new one

Damn I just broke my third transfer case (long story, driveshaft length, then broke centering pin, then frame flex/torque)...

You know what I need, a doubler, tripple sticks, cutting brakes, seats, a cage, hydro assist, rim protectors, ect ect ect.... thats where I am now.

The moral of the story is Damn this shiot is expensive, time consuming, and FUN... yep I said FUN... Upgrading never gets old and is like an addiction... I have already thought about links and coil overs... but no, I will need something to do next year. Enjoy the evolution of your truck and realize that the grass is always greener and you will think those 35s are HUGE until about 3 months go by and you get used to them.

I bought it.

I lifted it.

lifted some more.

then some more.

then took some of the lift off.

now I am going to take some more out.

all while replacing every single part on the truck except the frame, hood, rad support, and driver fender.

so basically you could say I am happy with what I got and never really change anything. :doah:

Yeah he rolled it there is a pic in the back cover of one of the petersons offroad mag. he is sitting on top of the skid plate/transfer case support! and acctually the hood didnt really survive either.

so wait besides the hood some how the only body panel that survived is the drivers fender

YES! :doah:I had a different fender on the truck when I rolled it. now the original one is back on, it was better then the rolled one. the hood is just the outer skin. and its mangled, but its easier to straighten without the inner supports.

the cab thats on the truck now is the third one. the first one was replaced after a fire. the second one after the rolover.

Now you have to master keeping a strait face when the girlfriend/fiance/wife says "so NOW you are done, right?":D

hmmmm I met my truck in 1988...... met my wife in 1991.....

still have the truck....

wife..... yeah she is still around..... :wink1:

and if people come over to drop off mulch or cut down trees... they drool at the truck...her typical line is....

yeah that is his girlfriend.... she isnt going anywhere so dont even ask... :haha:

so I have had this truck since 1988... few body swaps... few axle swaps...few engine swaps.....

im satisfied about alot.. but I have alot into it......

my only things left is a crew cab swap, bed bob and shorten and a few mechanical issues right now.......
