Anyone have a link to a tutorial for re-sealing the IP?

Mine is leaking super bad around the throttle shaft seals, would prefer to avoid having to spend big dollars having the IP rebuilt...

I do have a 93 6.5L IP sitting on shelf, I understand that is the desirable pump for a turbocharged engine, what would need to happen to use it? Just turn down the fuel a bit? My current IP will produce plenty of black smoke till the turbo spools up as it is.

Just run it :-) I ran the 4911 pump for a while, at stock settings it's not really that much more fuel then a J-code pump. I'm guessing you turned up your old pump a fair bit to get that smoke?

I set it up so it had no smoke when making 7 lbs of boost, but when I am shifting and go from high revving to lugging, she smokes like a freight train, haha

Yeah if that's true then the 4911 in stock form will be putting out a little less fuel than you're used to. Might as well take the plunge :D How's it all running for you otherwise?

Really well, been busy getting all the little things tied away here now... Just in time to tear it all apart and re-do the suspension

Boy, am I ever happy to be wrong! Winds up it was the fuel filter assembly that was leaking. The fuel heater came loose for some reason and was spraying fuel up towards the IP.

Tightened that up, and voila, no more leaks :D
