Anyone here running a 36\" tire with a 6\" lift ?????

Particularly Super Swamper TSL 36x12.50-15 (which are actually 36.3" tall). Installing a 6" lift in my 71 K-10 and I know 35's are fine but what about these? I'm no rock crawler so I won't be articulating the crap out of the pickup (just general running down crap roads and what not).

No.....Im running 38X12.50 Swampers on a 4" lift on a 70 Jimmy. Does require minor fender trimming. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

You should have PLENTY of room with 36X12.50's and 6"'s of lift and not flexing much.

Re: Anyone here running a 36\" tire with a 6\" lift ?????

You'll be fine. They might rub a little under full stuff, but not too bad. I run 38's on 7" of lift. I rub when it's stuffed, but no issues on the street, even with the steering wheel at full lock. My next tires will be the 36x13.50 Iroks. They "might" rub because they are a tad wider than my swampers, but I din't think it'll be too bad.

I was running 36x14.5 on my Suburban with 6" lift and it was fine until I tried to go on rocks and then it would rub.

mine were wider then what you are going to and you should be fine.

I'm running 36'x12.50 swampers on 4" lift on my sub and it fits fine, but I hade to do some trimming couse it would have rub pretty good offroad.

36 x 14.5 x 16.5 TSLR on a K20 with 4" + 3" and the fenders ate my tires going over the curb at the grocery store

The problem has now been rectified

Re: Anyone here running a 36\" tire with a 6\" lift ?????

I run 36/12.50/15's with a 6in lift on my 87 And I have never rubbed a fender.

Re: Anyone here running a 36\" tire with a 6\" lift ?????

37" MT/R's on 3" of lift. No tire rub at all.

Re: Anyone here running a 36\" tire with a 6\" lift ?????

i think the biggest part is the width of the tire.. I have 6" front leafs now.. bushwacker cutout flares and my 40" hawgs fit.. but when you turn (dont have steering hooked up yet... I cant.. I have to cut the fenders to even turn.. I think i will have to hack the bushwackers too...

my 40" hawgs are on 12' wide rims which pulled the height down a bit to like 38.7" so 38x15's would probably fit better.... /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

You nact realy tell becasue im not turned in that pic but if i was to be turning than it would have hit the fenders. And people tell me i can run the same combo on 4" lift and not touch the fenders /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif

Re: Anyone here running a 36\" tire with a 6\" lift ?????

Would what fits on 73-87/91 still fit the same on a 71?

My 1979 K20 has 9" of lift (6" suspension, 3" body) with 36x12.5/16.5 TSL SX's and they rub when bouncing through ruts.

Re: Anyone here running a 36\" tire with a 6\" lift ?????

I also run 35's and 6" lift with no rubbing at all. I did remove the front inner fenderwells, but I never rub on the fenders themselves. /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

Re: Anyone here running a 36\" tire with a 6\" lift ?????

I have 6" with 38.5x16 TSLs with some moderate hacking, no rubbage.

well im about to put 36x12.5x16.5 interco swampers on my '87 suburban with 4'' of lift tomorrow with very minor fender trimming from the previous owner and we'll see how they do

yep yep when school lets out within the next week or two, in goes my 6" tuff country and some 36" humvee bias ply tires. I measure and figured I might need some slight trimming on the rear of the front fenders, pb just the very bottom lip that folds in.

Post up when you're done. Once i finally finish my 9 month long motor swap, i'll be going to the same set up. 6" TC EZ rides and hummers.
