Anyone know why ???

They are not DOT approved and I believe they can leak air and loosen up with abuse also. If you want a DOT approved beadlock get a set of HMMV rims. I believe they are the only street legal beadlocks. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

To be honest, I like the look of the ring that bolts on.

Sence my K5 is Blue and White, I think White rims with a Blue ring would look nice. Remember, I'm not really into rock crawling, more just running some old trails. So in all honesty, I probly wouldn't need beadlock, I just like the look.

Someday I'll go with the beadlocks as well. Even through it'll be a drven on the road to & fro the trails, not sure it'd be that big of a deal. DOT legal or not, I'd still run em.

If you just want the look, why not get the Extreme alloy Axis or the Mickey Thompson Classic Loc (if they ever get out of their legal battle).

I can't speak for anywhere but Texas, but I have a good friend that is a DPS officer that works weights and meausres. I asked him about DOT rated wheels, and it was his opinion that the DOT regs apply to Federally regulated trucks hauling cargo from state to state.

He said that the regs didn't apply to passenger vehicles. Matt at WTOR confirmed the same info with a friend of his.

how many officers of the law actually know to look if your wheels are dot approved..and how many of those could you fool with "its just for looks see, the inside aint like that"

Go to 4wheel parts and buy some street locks. They Have the "beadlock look"

dunno why someone would waste their money to have something that "looks" like it is doing something useful, only to know deep down that they are fake. but to each his own right? and anyway, No one that i know of around here has been ticketed for driving on beadlocks.

[/ QUOTE ] More then likely I won't get fakes. But just wondering if those fakes come with the big rings link the Trail Ready's. The only thing I'd want them for is White rims with Blue rings becouse my K5 is two tone Blue and White.

Just think of this rim being white instead of black.

Thanks for the link, but a major problem "Street Locks 5 & 6 lug only" where my axles are 8 lug. Also I don't see the big ring thing.
