Anyone running 44's with only 8 inches of lift? PICS ADDED!

I just traded my 39.5 boggers for some 44 tsl's and I am wondering how much trimming I'm going to have to do???? I have 6 inches of suspension lift and 2 inch body lift. Some pictures would be great.

UPDATE:

OK, so I didn't use a sawzall, but they are done! I lifted the right rear with the forklift and got 40+ inches before lifting the left rear. The left front was stuffed! Almost done with the roll cage too. 2 weeks til gray rock and making progress!

8" is more than enough, just get rid of the entire body.

I've seen that post ....I'm not a newbie. Look at my join date and then look at yours....

I was looking for someone with the same setup, and pics. I didn't find what I was looking for in that post.

Really, w/ 8" + 2" body, you have a lot of clearance ot start with. Yes, you will need to trim.....but i doubt it will take much.

Join date has nothing to do with it. You should`ve said that you`ve already done research, maybe that would`ve prevented my "useless" post....

how much you trim is going to depend on how you wheel it. I have 8" of spring and 3" body lift. The front tires rub when flexing offroad. I have gotten the rears to rub but only on a RTI ramp. I do not run inner fender liners, the tires rub on the cab. I hacked the fender all the way back to within 2" of the cab. If you move the front axle forward that would help.

I'll try and remember to get pics when I get home.
 
That would be great. I would appreciate some pictures. The truck is a rock crawler and I've got the suspension where it works pretty well. I hate to change it now for more clearance. I could get another inch out of the front with some zero rates but I would have to reduce the diameter of my tierod. I have high steer with full hydro steering and the tierod is close to the springs as it is. I could go with a smaller diameter DOM and heim joint and maybe clear a zero rate block if that extra inch made a big difference. I don't mind cutting up the sheetmetal, but I am thinking the front of the cab might be in the way. I'm not too crazy about cutting the cab.

Any constructive input would be appreciated.

I am running 6" of lift in the front with 42" IROKs. I also have 6" bumpstops up front. This keeps the front springs from inverting too much and helps keep the tires out of the fenders. The rig scored 1000 on a 20 degree RTI ramp.

How about 4" lift on a Suburban and 47" tall tires, my wife's rig. She just took the body off and built her own.

6" skyjacker springs front and rear, No blocks, with a 3" body lift. Been seriously thinking about going 10" springs in the front with a shackle flip in the rear to get rid of the body lift but it's just a mud bogger and works like it is, unless I come across a good deal. where did u get the 6" bump stops? might be a good option in my case even after the fender trimming...

and I mean rig and WIFE!!!! :haha:

now to get my wife to want her own truck on 47's :wink1:
 
Here's a shot of mine.

5-6" kinda hard to say really.
No inners, More trimming needed, Axles moved fore and aft and narrowed. Everytime I so much as think about hitting a bump, I crumple the oil filter so haven't to to do much with it as of yet!
