Anyone running 44's with only 8 inches of lift? PICS ADDED!

I've seen that post ....I'm not a newbie. Look at my join date and then look at yours....

I was looking for someone with the same setup, and pics. I didn't find what I was looking for in that post.

Thanks for your useless post though! :)

You're an asshole. If you want to brag about anything, make it your lack of knowledge. There are plenty of people here running the approximate combo that you're looking for, and if you want to brag about not being a stoopid noob, you shoulda known that in the first place.

I ran 40's on 4-6" and am now running them on 1-2".

lol, not the word I would have used... but good call.

fitting big tires on low lift rigs is all about relocating the axles and hacking sheetmetal. No reason at all why 44s won't fit a rig with 8" of lift. Several members have similar set ups, including some in the "what will my rig look like" thread linked above.

In any case, your post has 2 questons basically..... 'how much trimming will I have to do?' and 'got pics'? The answers are: a LOT and no, but there are some in that thread. :)

ps: noob.

i got a 8 inch on a longbed frame took the bed off and im gonna tube it and took the front clip out to put the motor in and probbaly wont put that back on either.. and moved the front axle 2 inches ... but it doesnt run yet so i really cant say but i think ill be just fine

**** you pal....you are the A$$hole....I was looking for something specific and I get the same old "do a search and look at the catch all post...quit asking questions....everything has already been covered before...."
With idiotic mentality such as yours, no one should ever ask a question...as it has all been covered at one time or another.

I wasn't bragging about anything PI$$ANT...I was making a point that I wasn't a noob and I knew to search for what I was looking for before I posted....I did that and didn't find it.

I got what I was looking Thanks to that fact that there are still decent people on here willing to help, and NO thanks to idiots like you running your mouth and contributing NOTHING valuable to the post..

Shut the **** up and go the HELL away! Moron!

And once again....Thanks for the USELESS post!

It's 10,000 lakes. Have a nice day.

I'm running 6" springs front and 6" lift 56's in the rear w/ 2 leafs removed and 2.5" shackle flip, pushed the front axle forward 1.5" and running the rears backward for a wheel base of 112.5" trimming to the fullest and the 42's still rub, tried to fit 44's but the rub like crazy and I didn't want to lift it anymore to fit them, also the front inner fenders are removed. Could run 44's if mud riding but on the trail and rocks it just won't work.

This is 6" w/ 39.5 boggers and no stretch: http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2057901000038748505kFOKUU

This is 6" w/ 44's only pushing the front forward 1.5" no rear stretch:

This is 6" w/ 42's 112.5" wheel base and they still rub on the front but no bump stops:

Hope it helps. I think 8" would work great with lots of trimming, pushing and stretching.

Thanks for all the good info. Love the pics! You've got it pretty crossed up there in some of those!

I appreciate everyone who has given input and pics! I will post pics as soon as the sawsall cools off! :)

ps: relax, just messin' with ya. :thumb:

No problem, I love my k5, everyone I wheel with has jeeps so I love being able to wheel with 5 people and go where they go and some places they can't. Good luck with you project and don't for get the pics.

that amazes me every time I see it...so you are sitting on 9" w/ 42's (snug but on it none the less) yet my 8" rubs w/ my tires that measure out to 37"....

tire and wheel width has a lot to do with it along with the fact that he moved the axle forward.

with the front axle 1.5" forward this is how it sat in the fenderwell. those are 42x15x15 TSL's on 15x10's with 3" bs. the truck was only driven on the street for 50miles or so with this combo, because the tires were so worn unevenly that it shook like crazy. when turning the tires would hit, i had to cut some off the front. the tires measured out to 40.5"

when i started wheeling it, i ran 39.5x13.50 iroks, which measured out to 38x15 ill post a comparison pic

here are some pics comparing them. i changed the rear suspension right as i put the iroks on (hence the trimming). the reason i didnt trim much up front was because the shackle angle in stock location sucked so my flex was limited. i had plans to change the front anyways (52's) so i didnt change it then.

sorry to hijack the thread:doah: its avery's fault:p:

I've been running 44's with 8" for years. I moved the front axle forward 1.5" and the rear back about 5.5". Total wheelbase is 125". I do have the fenders cut a lot. Really, the only real problem I have is with the tires rubbing the insides of the rear fenderwells. The rub other places too, but that's the only place where it hurts anything.
