Anyone running a digital ignition box, is it possible with or worth it. I have a stock 87 k5. I have a friend that has one his I'd not using, I think it's a Mallory offroad AL..

Personally, my opinion is that unless you need to do something with the motor that the stock ignition might cost you some power (racing, engine RPM's up in the 6000+ range) then adding additional components to fail is absurd. My guess is that since you are talking stock TBI, racing isn't a consideration. :)

You can adjust timing on TBI without adding any components, if you REALLY want to mess with the timing, work within the system. Don't add something.

Just asking because he had one he wasn't using. Didn't know if it was any improvement. My truck runs great the way it is..
Thanks

I did a MSD 6A on my 91 Blazer 5.7L and never noticed a difference, fuel milage did not even change? Used to pick up a MPG on old carb engines. The only thing it did was wear out my cap and rotor real quick! Three sparks per cylinder firing under 3000 RPM. One longer spark after...

The ignition on these is so good and reliable, it's hard to improve on perfection.
