They look pretty cheesy to me, material is way to thin IMHO

Kind of a simple fab job and not super stout. No adjustability for longer springs. No mounting hardware (worth at least another $20) Gussets at additional cost?

It's gonna come down to you pay for what you get. I question their longevity under abuse.

At least with ORD or DIY4X you get super stout parts and no question on their quality.

the mounting point for the shackle looks centered.

a correct flip kit moves it forward just a bit to help the shackle sit at the correct angle.

and x2 on the other coments.

and doit your self if on a cheep budget with stock parts. http://coloradok5.com/shackleflip.shtml

or just use a second set of front hangers for the rear springs and position them and bolt or weld as you prefer to the frame and bam done. 2wd hangers 3" shorter than 4wd hangers also.

I called the guy and talked to him, I sent him a pic of the shackle flip I made ( I wanted him to make some similar but I want the truck to sit lower) (it's too high). he never got back to me, I don't think he's into 4x stuff I think he just has a plasma table and is trying to make stuff to sell, I know he makes these out of 3/16" which he claims is stronger because the stock hanger is 1/8" (according to him, I don't know) I disagree with that analogy. I think he bends them up with a shop press and homemade dies, the reason he doesn't make them out of 1/4". imo these would be good if you planned to reinforce them with gussets. I am in the process of making flip brackets along with some other items to sell. I kinda had the same idea to make a flip bracket and sell it cheaper than anybody else, I just don't want to do it with an inferior product like these. I think that can make something as good as the other guys, sell them cheaper and still make a profit, but for now as far as these go I'd say you get what you pay for, if your not doing anything hard these probably would work fine, I've also seen stock spring hanger (the front of the rear leaf spring) for around the same price as these cheap ebay ones, I'd rather go that route

I think the aftermarket shackle hangars are way overbuilt. I have seen some pretty janky stuff out on the trail that lasts and works.

these seem like they would work fine with 10 bucks worth of work to them

i would trust this over those shady looking Echobit flips

I agree with you 100%

The gussets would be a must because I can see those bending back and forth without them. You could re drill the holes in the frame to achieve the same offset that the ORD ones have.I can see them working just not a direct bolt in like others out there.

They just look cheesy

That and the fact that they are pictured on a rig with what appears to be a homemade 6" body lift doesn't give me any additional confidence :haha:

The ebay flips do not tie to the underside of the frame like OE or other aftermarket kits.

I would definitely gusset it, and I could add tie ins to under the frame. I have all kinds of metal in my shop so I could add some strength to it. Granted, I guess I could probably just make my own if I had time......

And yeah, I didn't notice that body lift, holy crap! :haha:

EXACTLY what I was thinking.

you dont use a redneck hackjob-mobile to show off a quality product.

Mine still isnt tied into the bottom... i should probably get on that :haha:

One of those its working for now so it is low priority projects.

Those look like "hurricane" brackets from Home Depot I put on roof trusses....the main issue I have with buying stuff like this on eBay is, that you have no idea what quality the material actually is. It can be 1/8 thickness but crappy steel that will bend like 1/16. My point is, if you load up your truck to go out for a weekend, hit pothole and the whole sh***y hanger gives, who's gonna be responsible for that shady work? I would not buy any structural pieces for my rig on eBay now days....i bet you can get same deal in local fab shop.....or if you have local trade school doing fab classes.....just my .02:thumb:

You are right to disagree with his reasoning. If you look at a stock hangar, you'll notice all kinds of bends and curves in the material. This is done to distribute loads over multiple planes and SIGNIFICANTLY increases strength.

The ideal picture is to consider dimple dies. Theoretically, you could make a piece of material with dimple dies that is weightless and infinitely strong due to the distribution of loads over multiple planes.

So, you'll note that simple right-angle construction like is done here is not going to be near as strong as the stock bracket, even though it's 1/16" of an inch thinner. I wouldn't trust them without adding some serious structural gussets to it. But then, if I were going to go that far I'd just build my own. I built a flip once for a full size jeep. Was pretty easy, really. Made it from 1/4" material and gusseted the hell out of it. :D

Yeah, I think I'll just build my own now that I think about it. I think I have some 1/4" plate somewhere around in there. I just figured I could save some time starting with these, but I'll probably save money doing it myself anyway.

I might sell these if your interested, they make my truck sit to high (because spring hanger I made also lift the truck)

How long is it going to take to fab up a set? 5 hours how much you time worth?

Those on E-bay are $60 so how much you saving? if it bends out on the trail, does he give refunds?

You have at least two vendors on here that make a very good product that works fine and they both stand behind it. They wheel with their product and support us as we wheel too. I would spend the extra money just because of that not to mention all the other reasons all ready posted.

Seems to me like your stepping aver a $1 to pick a penny

the way I figure it is that there are plenty of areas to fab custom stuff... I'll jump at the chance to buy a production product that I like and have complete confidence in, and put my hr's of custom work to other uses..
