Anyone up on cali smog laws?

I'm planning on swapping a 6.0 in my 88 k5... Should I be alright for smog?

My truck came with AIR in it's first life so will I need AIR on the 6.0L

You can do the swap BUT you will need to visit a referee for the first smog check. Any emissions that were originally on the vehicle must be retained and also EVERYTHING from the new engine as well. IIRC the transmission also considered as part of the swap package so it MAY need to be swapped in also. Find the number for your local referee station and give them a call and let them know what your swap plan is and they can tell you exactly what you'll need.

The tranny I'm gonna use is a 700r4 so I'm guessing I'll be ok. Most 6.0's came with a 4l60e mated to them.
