anyone use this exhaust?

Actually i'd like to have an x-pipe. I hear they or h-pipes make a difference but i'm not too sure. I guess i'll just have to find out.

yeah, they do make alittle bit of a difference. they are supppsed to give you alittle more low end power, but i think true duals with out the x/h sound better. plus with the engine that i want to use, i wont need one anyway

Can an engine breath too much? Can you hurt yourself with too big of an exhaust? I mean I can understand you not needing 3" pipe but, does it hurt anything?

it hurts scavenging, which is what helps a well built exhaust build power...

Or so people claim. Exhaust systems dont make HP, period. You take a 2500HP dragster engine and throw an exhaust system on it its not gunna make more HP. There is one thing to consiter with exhaust, if its too short cooler air can make its way to your valves and that can be a bad deal. All this exhaust "technology" crap makes me laugh. Open it up let it breath.

The exhaust does affect the HP I wont claim it doesnt. It does need to be built in a way it dont restrict your HP.

with the 6.5 td you should be fine with the 3" in all reality you could probly get away running 3.5-4" duals.

yes, putting an exhaust on a 2500hp motor wont add any power at all. if anything, it will only hurt it because of restriction. i know ill be completely fine with 3" duals for a 6.5. it will be pleanty. like i said, with a boosed motor, wether its gas or diesel, you want the least ammount of restriction possible, so basically the biggest exhaust possible... to a point

Yes, Yes and No. IMO (strictly) in his application this exhaustwould be right. Maybe even bigger wouldn't hurt. I actually didn't see it was for a diesel turboed. That makes a diff. I wouldn't run 4" exahaust on a 305. That doesn't make sense....
