My wife and I are making a week long trip for BB15 and I definitely want to run Lockhart basin while I'm there. I'm looking at thursday morning. I've never run that trial before and I don't know how long it takes but traildamage.com says it's 37mi. If anyone wants to run it, especially if you've done it before, post up!

Don't know if we'll be there early but it sounds fun if we are.

My previous response was.....

We ran Lockhart basin last year before BB. We ran to the plane wreck and back. Very dusty due to the dry weather last year. My back window not rolling up at 50mph did not help.

9 hours round trip. Go prepared. We did not see anyone and no cell service.

But the good is, the scenery is incredible. Every hill you go over it's "holy crap, look at that." We gave up taking pictures because you have to be there to trully enjoy it.

Crap if it was 9 hours for Wade, we're talking several hours more for the rest of us.

If I make it this year would love to run it with ya. Just not sure I am gonna make it

We had a buggy and a nissan wheelr with us. So speed was not always with us.

A camping trip would be perfect out there. Take your time and enjoy the scenery. I could be in for that.

Well I'll have ORD springs by then so I'll be faster than I am now but I'm not as fast as you haha! I'm making a week long trip out of it so camping Sunday night on Lockhart would be pretty sweet.

I ran it with Wade, I think if it was just the two of us we would have shaved 3-4 hours off of the trail. We'd run ahead, then wait for the Toyota and buggy to catch up, rinse and repeat.

The scenery is fantastic though.

Also you could probably shave a couple hours off by running out to the highway, but we wanted to run back up the trail. If I remember correctly it took us about 6 hours to get to the plane and 3 hours to get back to camp since we weren't stopping to admire the scenery so much.

i'm really looking forward to Moab, i'm already trying to plan the trip when i still have a lot of **** to do to my truck.

so who's in for camping out on lockhart sunday night? :woot:
