Sorry if I came off offensive, I do that quite often and did not intend on it. The back glass is a seperate piece, if you leave it in then the mid gate comes down without the lower frame of the window, if you take the glass out it fits in a place on the back side of the mid gate and then the whole gate fold down to make the floor of the bed. Yeah it would be nice to have an 8 foot bed, but it sure is nice to have the comfort of a crew cab 4x4 that isn't a mile long. My biggest concern is what to put on the seals to ensure they stay soft and work for years to come. I have heard of silicon grease is the best thing, any ideas on that one? There are all kinds of nifty things on this truck, like all the new Chevy trucks over the past 20 plus years, I think they have to grow on you for awhile. I think I have hated every change Chevy has ever made until they grew on me.
