Tire-Fender contact depends on many factors - lift, springs, tire size and width, wheel width and offset, and on the particular terrain. I don't doubt that there are some cases with a 4/35 combo where you can get away with it and have no tire/fender contact when the suspension articulates. I just wouldn't count on that, particularly so when the choice is one of the softer springs on the market.
