wondering how much a blazer weights? i have a 30' enclosed toy hauler with a 4500lb cargo weight, i was just wondering if i could lighten one enough to put one of these in their? or maybe stregthen my trailer frame to support it? maybe even add a 3rd axle?

I can't believe that number at all. Hell I think a VW bug weighs about that much.

well ok, my trailer weights around 7500lbs, and has a 12k load capacity. so im thinking i may be close to loaded with a k5blazer is my problem, I think i can get one in it, but i dont know if it can support the weight of it?

[/ QUOTE ] I disagree, I have seen people pick up bugs and move them, back in HS. 2947 is way to much even devided up by half a dozen guys. i don't even think they weigh a ton, more like 1500lbs maybe.

Say you have a 1973 K5, it weighs 3912 lbs.

If your maximum weight the trailer can hold inluding it's net weight is 12K and the trailer itself weighs 7500lbs than that leaves you with 4500lbs of room.

7500+
3912=
-----
11,412lbs.

OK, I was exaggerating a little. My wife's minivan weighs in at 4200 lbs. I weighed it myself. Now just comparing the two that seems like its light for a blazer.

Wife's van,

6 cyl.
small trans
no transfercase.
unibody construction
and what ever is under there for axles.

Back in 69 I don't know what they used for a t case but i'm sure it wasn't as light as todays cases.

but remember in 69, stadard equipment was the body, 6cyl motor, 4 speed tranny, dana 20, driver seat and stering wheel. the top, pass seat, and everything else was optional. maybe it was a base model truck /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

That is just bizarre. Probably all true and factual. Just strikes me as very odd to say the least. I'd love to weigh one as it left the factory.

I'D LOVE TO SEE A PICTURE IF AND WHEN YOU WEDGE THAT THING IN THERE. BUDDY OF MINE HAS A SAND RAIL PUTS IT IN A 28 TOY HAULER AND THATS A TIGHT FIT. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
