Are you ready?!?!?!

LOL, what's your screen name over there? I assume you are Claudia's chase truck? Hopefully I don't need a disguise...

It's been awhile, but I think my name on there is "FriendofaCruiser"

Drug the trailer home tonight just to make sure everything was working as it should be. So far, so good. Might load up the blazer tomorrow and pull it home just as a full dress rehersal and see what needs fixin.

Outside of that, just small stuff left. Really could use another week to tune the injection. Got a host of backup parts and can swap back to HEI and carbeuration in Moab if need be.

make sure you pack those trailer bearings!

ok, all fluids topped off, steering box bolts snugged, belts tightened, c.b. mounted, trailer hooked up, blazer strapped down.

next is to start stockpiling spare parts, and load them in the truck. tire pressure will be checked Wednesday night!! woohoo, almost there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Found a twisted drivers side inner last night. Then once I got the stub shaft in the wash vat this afternoon I found that the spindle bearing that had lost most of it's grease had gotten into the bearing surface on the stub shaft. Have to wait till Tuesday to see what is available and how long it's going to take to get. Should have parts by Wednesday afternoon or Thursday AM.

Other wise I am down to packing tools and changing the ride height a bit. Nothing big with the exception of the axle shaft.

1 step forward, 2 steps back. :doah:

Cheap shocks work as expected, much less bounce on the trail.

Carburetor problem discovered - power piston jammed. No fuel metering at part throttle, header pops galore, a lot more underhood heat all day, resulting in a melted ARB line near the passenger header. Attempts at damage control tomorrow...

I used vacum line to sheath my ARB line with.

Oh, I did as well. There's about 18" where the rubber is melted, and the two lines are inseparable.

Well. ARB line spliced/re-routed. Power piston in the carburetor unglued and cleaned. New fuel filter. Sounds much better on startup. Need to drive a bit to check it out. This better work, otherwise I'll have to rebuild the carb...
you know, if it was fuel injected....

...it would be even more difficult and expensive to repair.

Finished your thought for ya. :waytogo:

Really? Google "stuck injector". :p:

In the 10 years of owning my K5 with TBI I've only had to rebuild the fuel presure regulator. (that was a cheap fix from Auto zone) Other than that not a single issue. My bro and dad owened the truck before me too and no issues.

I was, then I saw a p/s puddle under the truck, and checked it, then it is leaking out the cap, so I don't know why, but it is still full, and so I am done again.

My Q-jet was awesome, really nothing bad to say about it. Two rebuilds in 30 years of service and it performed flawlessly :pimp: I almost miss it :haha:

But....

Believe it or not this will actually be loaded on the trailer and headed to Moab early Thurs. morning:
