to the heads, i can run the motor with the valve covers off and just a few drips come up the pushrods and collects in the rocker. what gives??? i did everything GM said, broke her in, and changed oil twice. what could be wrong????

i mean, could all of the pushrods be toast???? or rockers too tight???? this is a goodwrench crate motor, and the dealership is saying they'll replace it....but they say it has to be broke first. and even then, they will replace it...but i must pull/replace this one.(i.e. do the labor) which is BS.

i don't wanna do it again!!!!

any ideas???

Running the engine with no oil to the top is killing the valve springs and galling the rocker arms. If you keep this up the dealer will have a reason to refuse any warranty. Get on the phone with the dealer immediately and warn them that your next phone call is going to be to the BAR if they don't stop giving you the run around and fix their engine.

Possibly the cam bearings aren't lined up right?

well, the lady took all my info, gave me a service ID number, and put me on the phone with the local service manager, and he told me to just run it and it will be fine. so, im going to. the lady was on the phone when he told me that, and hopefully it was recorded...so when this motor/heads give up i will be getting a new motor...and they will be paying for this. i mean, what else can i do ya know????

id pull it and say it doesnt work any more and there is no oil on the top end. I wouldn't just run it, I say a paying customer need to get what they payed for.

i really really don't wanna pull it again. i will, but i think they could fix the problem with it in the truck. worst case scenario is i burn up the valves right???? then they will be fixing it....i dunno though. what a pain in the ass.

Go to the dealer and have them put in writing that they want you to run this engine with NO OIL to the top end. If they'll do that then go ahead and run it. My suspicions are that they won't be willing to give that to you in writing in which case i would call the BAR while you are standing in front of them.

I believe we don't have the BAR in Florida. im looking into somebody else though.
i need my driver up and running guys!!! DAMN THIS!!!! i've never had problems like this before. im generally a nice guy, but am getting ticked off fast. im going to go into the dealership tomm and im going to try to get it in writing that if i run it, and she breaks...that they will INSTALL a brand new motor in my truck. and if that's the case, it won't be long till that happens.
