I think my auto hubs are going bad. There is a popping coming from the front when I turn. Is there any way to check them other than replaceing the hubs?

Sure it aint a balljoint or wheel bearing? You could pull the hubs out and then see if the noise stops, to be sure it aint those parts.
If its coming from say the right front, when you put the hubs back in, put that one on the left front, and see if the noise follows it. If it does, that hub is dead.
Last time you used 4wd, you were sure to back up, get out of the truck and dance around with a dead chicken as per the GM manual to be sure they unlocked didnt you?

lol, I haven't use 4wd in while and the noise just started today.
