So I bought my blazer back in January and the electric locks have never worked. And as a matter of fact sometimes if the door gets locked it can be a real pain to get it to unlock. The power windows work fine albeit slow. What could my issue be? I guess my only option is to take apart my doors? I’m just scared I’ll never get the door panels to snap back on and be nice and tight or I’ll break some old plastic or something. Any advice? It’s a 89 jimmy 350 tbi 700r4

Have you checked the fuse. Does make any noise when you press a switch. Does it not work from either side. Does the relay under dash click when you use switch on either door. Are you switches in operating condition. There is an inline fuse.

No I haven’t checked fuse. It makes absolutely no noise or attempt to lock or unlock and neither side works.

You need to spend some time with a multimeter checking for power and continuity.

I had similar problem but with power windows and it turned out to be the wires going through the boot from the door to the cab. The wires get brittle over time and break.

Like kennyw said, time to check for power and continuity.

My son is a mechanic and instantly checked continuity and found the broken wires. He was able to pull the harness through the boot enough to install all new wires in the section that flexes which solved the problems. Be sure to solder, use shrink wrap with sealant, or with dielectric grease inside shrink wrap if you find the wires to be broken. YMMV.
