Auto tranny pan shapes...

Right now I'm about 50/50 on keeping the 6.2. I've never owned a big block, and I'm sure there is a certain fun factor there.

Rene

The fun factor with a big block is betting your friends on how fast the gas gauge will drop when wheeling. My buddy's 79 Blazer with the 454 can drop the gas gauge by just tapping the throttle at idle. Ok, maybe that is a bit of an exageration, but I know that if he goes any distance off road, he has to carry extra fuel, even off road mileage is a consideration.

All good points. I know at BB '03 I wheeled all day on about 6 gallons of fuel with the 6.2...

I do have a turbo set-up kicking around here. Maybe I'll get the turbo rebuilt and add that to the 6.2 for that bit of fun factor I'm looking for. 3" straight pipe off the turbo...

Bought this tonight...

'86 crew cab with logger box...must have been a really late '86 cuz it has a TBI 350. Hydro SM 465. Sure is ugly, but very little rust. The rockers are the worst of it, but they get replaced with box tube sliders anyways. Floors and cab corners are solid, cab mounts are great. Doors could use a little elbow grease to clean em up, but there isn't much rust on em.

I was BS'ing with the guy for a while and he was asking what I wanted it for. I gave him the readers digest version...then offered him $700 for it. He said to me, how about $650...it sounds like it's going to a good home to become a cool project. Uhhh, deal.

I pick it up tomorrow.

It's solid, and hasn't been messed with. I was looking for a good foundation, and this fits the bill. It runs really nice too.

Being a manual tranny with hydro clutch saves me a bunch of work. Not having to swap pedal hanger, steering column, plus drill out for the slave is not a bad thing.

I'll have a hydro bell and stuff to resell later too.
