Do you have to change the carrier in 10b stockers to go from 3.08 to 4.56? seems a little late to ask considering i done bought gears but i am wondering. its a 1986 set of axles 10 front and 10 rear

No. Carrier break on a 10 bolt is 2.73. Anything from 2.73-5.38+ uses the same carrier.
