I have a 96 k2500 suburban currently the brakes on the rear axle need to be replaced. Does anyone know if an axle from one of the newer chevys with discs are about the same width. If I made this swap would have to have the spring perches or shock mounts moved. I was thinking if I could find one with the electric locker and discs it would be worth trying to locate. It seems as though to do a disc brake conversion on my 14bolt with parking brake and all the correct parts that I will be at almost $1000.00. I saw a similar post but it was about a six lug and no mention of spring perches or shock mounts.
