1/2 ton status
You may have no problems wheeling with what you have on 33 inch tires. For your setup 4.10 would get you to a better place as far as power goes. 3.42 and a tired engine and bigger tires really sucks the life outa the truck. Stepping up to a set of 3/4 ton axles will get you all the strength you need. Would also Be mostly bolt in. A lot of them come 3.73 or 4.10 already so if you think you need better gears that will Take care of a stronger rear end and better gearing for the mountains all at once. Hard part is finding a good deal On them. The front keeps the same internal strength as the 1/2 ton you already have, but gets you better brakes. Like said go wheeling a few times and see if you break something. A lot of guys wheel with a light foot on 1/2 ton axles and have no Problems running stock axles for awhile. It's when you get confident on the easier trails and decide to try harder stuff that you start having more breakage issues.
