Has anyone heard anything on these kits on the 4L60E transmissions yet and what there feed back? I just bought one to put in my 1994 k5 blazer along with and new raybestos clutches, steals, sunshell called the beast, corvette servo, alto red band, new harness with new tcc solenoid, A and B soloid and 3-2 soloid and all the other seals and gaskets.. i am also using a 1997 case because i was told up until 1997 there was a weekness in the case alone.. can anyone give me any feedback on this.. This will be a daily driver and doesnt get beat on.. im am also using the truck/suv/rv part of the b&m shift improver not the street strip one. I dont want to be put all this money for no reason especially after i just put a brand new good wrench engine in with a lil wprk dont to it, had the transfer case rebuild along with both differentials.. the ,rear has a eaton posi to replace the stock one that came in the truck, richmond 3.73 ring and pinion and richmond axles.. im hoping to have the complete drive train done soon so i can start on the dents and dings that the truck has and have it depainted and sealed before any rust starts on the body because as of now its very clean when it comes to any rust.

Definitly stick with the rv/tow setup. Make sure you use a new converter and flush/clean your cooler and lines good.

I have heard that there is not much reason to NOT use a shift kit.
But I don't like many stock aspects for transmissions....

is this parts for inside the trans ? or the wired in unit for the electronics with a stock/1/2 level switch on it . ?

I have a built 4l60e in an '81 Monte Carlo, with many hop up parts in the trans. The first drive, with the stock valve body, was disappointing. Even with the line pressures at 100 % with as little as 10% throttle, it was not harsh. We installed a Transgo shift kit into the valve body, and it immediately shifted better. I'm not afraid to unleash the blown small block, any more. Will burn second, and chirp 3rd, at over 70 mph. Will never run a 4l60e without a shift kit!

I am replacing the cooler lines and the radiator is about 1yr old so i will flush that to also blow air through it. The pump is also being taken aprt to check for score marks and cleaned if there is any marks it will be replaced also.. the street strip setup will be to much for everyday use

Air won't clean the lines.

And I don't know if it was covered or not but don't forget an auxiliary cooler as well. Keep it as cool as humanly possible.

I would recommend a small TransGo or Superior shift kit for the type of use the truck will see. If you have a lot of builder experience Sonnax makes some great products for these transmissions. Options for this trans are only limited by your wallet and desire, but no matter how many mods you make, you can never overcome this units smallish input sprag, aluminum input drum, lack of center support and limited clutch capacity etc. Still a worthy candidate for less than 450HP

im more in less tryingbto improve it over the stock stuff.. i have transmission rebuild four time with stock parts and everytime it was a different issue.. this time i have a friend who does transmissions for the chevy doing it.. im not using very many stock parts besides a few hard one.. this truck is my way yday driver and my plan is to do a really good restoration of it and then garage it and buy a beater.. i just tore down the original engine so that i can rebuild it so everything will be numbers matching.. in this area these trucks are very hard to find everyone has the tahoe or suburban but noone has the blazer and if they do its completely trashed.. i wish i could post pics but cant figure out how toi

have bee told to use a after market cooler as well as stock cooloer and i am really considering it.. especially since my thermostat is only a 160 . I try to keep engine cooler for less wear and most likely will do same for transmission.. as for fushing i was told about this fush that hooke to a air hose and basically fushes with chemical but also a descent

we changed the spag to what they say is heavey duty and the sunshell is supposed to be the beast of all.. we will see what comes out if ut

the can of flush has its own pressure like a reg spray can .

and talk with greg ducato here he posted already . he is a transmission guy and knows his stuff ! ! !

also get a temp gauge for the trans to keep a eye on fluid temps to help save it before its to hot. even with a second cooler installed.
