I made it home fine. It ran great. Thanks for the help everyone. Matt you would have been pissed. thats all you need to know :haha:

the other people on this board must think we hate each other and are a bunch of a holes the way we talk, but the way everyone pitched in to get it running and let me have a break, was unbelievable. I think they would all be jealous of what we have as a core group. At least a you guys are willing to pitch in when someones junk has a problem.:bow:

I almost think it wouldn't be a really good trip unless something happened that was "interesting"

That's kinda true, Chris. I was viewing it from the angle that something goes wrong just about every trip, and I knew that my cut tire would not be the end. If my Heep tumbled off the jack and down the mountian it might have been enough, but the tire change went too smoothly to be all the trouble for a trip.:D
Thankfully, we were able to get the BBB back up and running, even if I was a little worried Dean's head was gonna blow off like a cartoon thermometer at one point.

If deans blood pressure was soring what was Brian doing all the at hard work. (Just poking at you dean)
Its the fixes on the trails that are sometimes the most memorable and challenging glad to hear it was not a total melt down of both driver and truck.

It would have been a shame for 2 years of constant hard work to go up in smoke on the second outing. Maybe its just rejecting the long bed stigmata.

ok here is the info, i have typed it out in 3 pm's :haha:

well for the first time my carb really acted up. so at the end of the gold mtn trail I decided to pull the top off and reset the floats and put some vacuum line in between the bowls to stop some sloshing. all went fine, but when I started it up I forgot to hook up the fuel line and the fuel ignited on the exhaust manifold I think. I grabbed my fire extinguisher and started putting out the fire but I couldn't see from the white cloud. it finally ran out and I had to grab some water from my water can and put it out, as well as people dumping gateraid and what not on it and Latch swing a rag at it. all was involved in the fire marshal bill show.

an hour and a half later or so it was running again.
the part that took the longest was taking the carb off and cleaning it all up and taking all the plugs out to make sure there was not water in the block. once that was all done we got it running but it was running rough, someone mixed up two plug wires, Im not sure who hooked them back up. everyone told me to relax and eat my lunch while they worked on it.
after that I just headed back to camp knowing I dodged a bullet and just called it a day. it ran fine but a little rough on idle, probably a cracked wire from the fire. all in all I was lucky and I was the only one with a fire extinguisher. truck made it home fine, i have a lot to clean when I get home today.
every one needs to carry at least one fire extinguisher :D

Chris, Brain and Ernie thanks so much for all your help.

Oh and I had 3 beers this weekend two Friday night and one Saturday night, so that had something to do with it :haha: Ill leave the beer to beerchris, amateurs like me cant do it.

Othet than the "Flamer Incedent" (sorry I couldn't resist) How has the B-cubed been working?

I saw the videos you posted, but they were a little short to tell.

You've done a hell of a job with it though!!!

well the "flamer incident" was in the camp ground across from me :haha: Now I know why Drew would go MIA every now and then. :haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

Seriously, with the coin and the hard work you and the guys have put in, are there things that you are unhappy with?

Is It working how you expected or are there things you need to change?

its working as well as I thought it would. I have no major problems that would keep me from taking it out, but there are things I would change. I am very happy with the way it flexes and works on the trail. It could use more low gear, and some other things, but over all I am very happy. Oh, and it is a rattle trap going down the road.

Are you thinking of adding something like Dynamat for the rattles. Or something like a spray. I know I have a few issues like that since I've solidified most of the drivetrain.

By the way, when I get back, you, myself, Matt and Brian need to educate me on twin-sticking my 205. I have the coin set aside for it!!

You got to remember its not the scion box you drive everyday, its a 30 year old rattle trap and thats why we like them. When its stops rattling be concerned because something is about to break

Keep saving and buy an atlas :D. Just kidding no problem its a half day process.Get the parts when you get back then drive it up we can drop it at my house and do the mod and have it ready go in a couple hours.

That's cool Matt, but this is Deans thread. Speaking of which, Dean, how did your twin stick work out. Did you have to mess with it alot?

dude this is the BS thread, no worries at all. :D as for the twin stick I like it. I wouldnt say it was a waste at all. It has been used a couple times, and I have only taken it out 2 times.
I have 38's and a th400 and 4.10's, it needed more power going up the road to big bear from my house. from the back side it is 16% grade. so at one point I put it in low 2wd and had that little extra gear that I needed. The problem is I need lower than that on the trail.
