Back In the Saddle Again

ok, so if I decided to use the 208 with the SM465 I’m going to need the long OeM shaft.
I thought you were talking about the 205 for some reason, I didn't look into the link.
But yeah the 208 went with the long 32 spline shaft in the sm465 and has a special adapter.
I do have one left that I might sell if you don't have one and can't find one.
I am not looking to sell it but chances are I will not get the chance to use it anytime soon so if someone needs it...
And by the way my friend is here and will be heading back to Arizona any day now so if you need parts from here like a 32 spline SM465 and the adapter, it can get there a lot cheaper than shipping something that heavy

How much for it all iceman? Pm me

So what’s the deal with the short 32 spline is that only to run a doubler 205?

You want an OEM 32 spline output shaft. If you get an '85+ SM465/NP208, it is a direct swap for what you currently have. You can even reuse your current NP208 if you just swap the input shaft.

I have never seen any sm465/208 other than the 32 spline.
My 1983 and 1989 were the same

My current 208 has 32 splines. So all I have to do it rebuild the sm465 with the correct oem 32 spline shaft.

anyone know if all replacement gears are available? I don’t think there is much inside this one that’s useable. At the end of the day might be better off just getting a different sm465

Parts are still available for these, but since most people are afraid of standards, they are fairly easy to find a good usable one

Just for reference, this is the aftermarket short 32 spline and adapter.
