Back In the Saddle Again

Looks great!
Nicely done!
Did those hubcap mounts affect the wheel/tire balance?

Love the build! The paint, grill, LS swap, NV4500.... Very nice :saweet:

If you are looking at trailers look closely at the dimensions of the 1101/1102 vs the M101A3. The 1100 series was too short and wide (what she said). The M101A3 matches our vehicles well and has the 8 lug hubs Matching the ride height should be super easy as well. Some pics here - https://ck5.com/forums/threads/ibv2.341081/#post-4201968

Finally found a set of AM seat belts that will install into these seats. But did not go as planned. Stripped this seat down to the frame and installed the belt. Sat in the seat to check that it worked properly and it did. But all of a sudden the belt locked up. Would not detract. Tried everything I could but the mechanism just ate the belt and wouldn't. So i go into the box and test the other belt mechanism and its locked up as well. Message the seller to let him know neither mechanism is working properly and hes arguing with me about it and it looks like im going to be out the coin for the belts. I think thats enough BS for me to start looking for some different seats. IMG_5130.jpeg

Sewing is easy but takes forever. Learning to use a sewing machine takes some patience but it makes sewing easy and fast. However, making the patterns for oddball shapes is a complicated science.
If it were me and I were dead set on a leather cover, I'd try to find a cloth cover that was sewn in pieces rather than molded to fit, then dismantle it to use as a template.

I want the french seam. It just looks awesome.
Do you sew?
Or are you going to learn?
I do sew and I have a sewing machine rated for sewing leather that I bought 25 years ago especially for doing cars interiors, but I have not had the time to do anything yet.
I have been fixing mechanical issues and selling projects running.
I should start finishing a project

Im not necessarily sold on real leather. Faux leather/vinyl will work just fine. I have never sewn anything with a machine in my life. But I am very quick to learn anything new. Been on the hunt for an industrial machine to get the job done. Looking at consew and singer 591 right now.

I don't know what model number i have but it's a singer

So I downloaded FreeCAD and have been playing with NV4500 shift bezel designs. I plan to just do this myself that guy who was supposed to help out ghosted me who knows probably got busy.

But since Im learning this software on my free-time I decided to finally design up my seat brackets.

They need to encompass multiple styles and years. Need to flip forward on both driver and passenger side. Also will include an option for a gun safe drawer mounted to the parts of the mounts that don't flip. I am constantly nervous about my belongings in the canvas covered truck. Want to be able to lock important things up when running into the store etc., make the safe bolt or welded to the bottom of the seat bracket.

Where did you get the free CAD? I'd like to mess with that some but can't get my work to give me access to the good stuff since I don't technically need it for my position.

Its an opensource program called “FreeCAD” its 100% free but its super not user friendly and even I, a complete tech wizard with a degree in programing am struggling with it. Lol I might be looking for something else to use because it is very unforgiving however there is tons of tutorials on YouTube on how to use it.

I can get a free bootlegged version of AutoCAD but my brother has been working on a CAD program of his own so I am waiting for that.
If I really want to, I can pay for one but I will not be using it enough to justify it
