Back In the Saddle Again

Anyone in Idaho know if my lack of an EBrake is going to be an issue when I get the registration on the K5?

still have the pedal and cables ? if so a set of Eldorado calipers might do the trick

i have the cable to about center of the frame. Was thinking those on lugnut 4x4 might work. I also need mudflaps to be legal. Tons of people getting pulled over for it I guess

No mudflap will look good in my opinion, still if it's the law you will want to do something.
Oh yeah i went into the auto parts store today asking for mudflaps and the kid said “they pull you over for that too?!” Guess he's been hassled on his own truck more than once and finally caved. So yeah i dont want that trouble. Although i have been followed and past multiple cops and didnt get hassled yet.

Do you still have Arizona plates?
Sometimes cops let out of staters slide on minor things like this, but if they see you multiple times then they will realize you moved there and will pull you over

Yeah this is what I was thinking

You won't get hassled for any of that up there. When I lived in Rigby they didn't do any inspections other than a vin inspection since you are coming from out of state. Can't remember how that works. I think the ladies at the dmv did it. Just had to have the vehicle you were registering there and not just paperwork. When I moved back to Utah I had to do vin inspections all over to switch all my stuff back. Here we just call dispatch and they send out a sheriff and he does it in your driveway for you.

Well, I must have impressed the guys at the 4x4 shop. Just got the call they want me to stay full time. That 1st day was just a “throw him at the wolves and see” and apparently I am good enough to keep on. They pretty much said doing that frame brace kit is the most involved type of install they do and I put them way ahead of schedule on the build because of my ability to do it quickly. They are drowning in work and pay extremely well. So I am happy. Just need to get a new box and bring my tools in which I am working on this weekend.

I will say that the rear most -forward hangars on that XJ frame was an absolute bitch to take off without destroying the frame. There are so many spot welds its damn near impossible to do it cleanly. It took me the better part of 5 hours just to get those off.

Yeah, I am glad they were willing to take me on. They didn't have an ad out or anything. I just showed up asking if they were hiring since there is only a couple 4x4 outfitters —they don't have much competition. Super nice shop but very small. 3 lifts + alignment rack. Excited to see what Ill be working on tomorrow.

Shoulda bought my old snap on when i offered.

Where is the black one you had? Didn't you score another this summer?

Sounds like a cool gig.
