Back In the Saddle Again

Any progress?
I want to do something like this for my 85; taller (built in armrest), lockable for my weapon, migrate the stereo into it & maybe a subwoofer in the back of it.

Tuffy Builds a pretty cool one I just couldn't find one second hand and didnt want to fork out $400 but if you have the money the tuffy box is a nice unit and does everything you want it too.

I think its fine if people want to pay to get it done, they have more money than time and/or skills, no problem.

I am mostly a DIY guy, but there are things like roofing and stuff where I've done it before and I'm thinking, F that, I'll pay someone. I don't want to spend my time doing that.

Everyone prefers different things. I like to build engines, many people just want the engines ready to drop in.

I am just surprised they would pay to get it done to that vehicle, it seems that's more than it's worth, but I don't know yotas.

Yeah I am actually surprised there is a market for this type of work. I figured it was strictly DIY but hey the pay is great so whatever. Lol

Was having this issue where the carb would not kick down into low RPM. And a hard cranking issue. Dont have a place to work on the truck and only drive it on fridays. Well yesterday I decided to redo the timing curve and take a look.

Popped the airfilter off and started messing with the carb linkage. Found that my throttle return spring was just barely not allowing the linkage to kick down.

Adjusted the timing for more timing at low rpm. And now it starts and runs great again. Still working on finding a house up here. My house in AZ closes this week finally.

Starting to gather parts for the interior build.

Thinking I will rebuild the dash pad and have it wrapped in leather. Going to have the seats all redone in either saddle/tan/brown. Really want to do something with the rear interior panels that hasn’t been done before. I want them to be multi purpose storage and look good. Thinking composite storage boxes all trimmed out to look and function Like what you see in the Tacoma beds now. Should probably get a stereo system hooked back up too.

Going to get the saddle vinyl floor covering. Interior Accents will be black and tan. These cover lay door panels are already garbage. Would not recommend them.
